Re:Leaf - A House Plant Caring App
Background
This project was one I created by myself, as a part of my UX design studies.
The goal was to create an aesthetically pleasing and UX design-wise plausible product that would appeal to the targeted users; people in their 20s and 30s who have a fairly new-found interest in growing and caring for house plants.
The Concept
I experienced there was a hole in the market for people who are younger and that live in apartments and won’t have access to a garden. People who care less about the functionality of the plant and more about the visual elements of each plant, use plants as a way to curate their home.
At the same time, through their initial interest which might be a bit on the shallow side, I hope that Re:Leaf would be a pathway into deepen their love and interest for plants and understanding the importance of plants. Both in our home, for our mental health, and for the nature outside, for planetary health.
The Design
I decided to use a color palette to give a warm and homie feeling, as the app itself could fit right into a plant-loving 20-something’s well-curated home.
Trying to make it a place that isn’t just for information but a place you would like to (virtually) hang out at.
My Role
This project is one I created fully on my own. Everything from the app idea itself to the layout, UX design thinking, and design execution was done by me.
